Okay, time for my first lifestyle post. This one is about traveling. I am located in Fayetteville, NC and one thing my husband and I love are weekend getaways. Especially family friendly weekend getaways. We took this trip back in April but I wanted to share it with you all. My children are ages 4, 3, and (was, at time of trip) 6 months old. Tweetsie Railroad Theme Park, located in Blowing Rock, NC, is a great place to take younger children. It is packed full of fun (without there being far too much stuff to do in one day). For anyone not familiar with this theme park it is has a wild west theme with trains, cowboys, and saloon girls!
P.s. This post is in no way sponsored I just wanted to share because for the kids I truly enjoy Tweestie.
There are tons of props for cute pictures. We even did the old time photo booth and got to dressed up! (I don’t have a digital picture of that, I do have it hanging on our wall though)
We got the girls faces painted!

Watched some shows.
Rode some fair rides and trains!
One of my favorite things that we did not get to do this trip was the petting zoo.. It started to pour down rain and we had to leave. Peep the first picture of the Tweetsie sign. That was taken on our way out.
I will be honest unless you are into nature walks and hiking there is not much else to do in Blowing Rock/ Boone, NC. The sole purpose of a trip was to visit Tweetsie Railroad. We stayed at the Super 8….. But I would not recommend that. We picked that hotel because it had an indoor pool. The pool was small and cold. The hotel was a little dated and the staff was mediocre. For the price I wasn’t expecting to much, except to actually enjoy the pool.. So I was disappointed there. The one thing they did have were delicious fresh baked cookies sitting at the front desk all day long! Plus hot coffee, of course that made my stay better.
Also To add to the fashion side of things – I have a related post about what to wear to theme parks. You can check that out here. Hope you found this helpful. If you are from NC or surrounding areas let me know what your favorite places to visit are (kid friendly or not)!
Love, Crystal
